Tomorrow between noon and 4 p.m. at
Quirk Gallery is your chance to score some handmade baubles from one Washington D.C.-based and two Richmond-based jewelry designers.
From Washington, D.C., giantLION is a nature-inspired line designed by Caroline Whittington. Hergoal is to bring a bit of glamor to earth-inspired pieces, resulting in jewelry that can be worn every day.
Academy Jewelry is made right here in town by Rachel Albright. The designs seek to find a balance between organic design and avant-garde. Look for lots of simple-yet-stylish necklaces that can dress up tank tops or sundresses.
Urban Revisions is also made here and features shawls, scarves and other textile pieces made from hand-shredded fibers, along with glass jewelry. I’m particularly excited to view the knit pieces in person, which are made by pulling, stretching and revising fabric to create soft, airy textures.
